Major Moscow's Strikes Cut Power Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities under attack in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have come under increased strikes in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to blackouts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were wounded while residents in eastern districts were left without electricity and dealt with problems to water supplies, as stated by local authorities.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a separate Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has increased strikes on energy facilities over recent weeks, while the country's government has demanded "concrete actions" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not window dressing but firm measures - from the US, European nations and the Group of Seven - in providing defensive weapons and implementing penalties," he wrote in a online statement.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty projectiles targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were laboring to repair systems.

A series of attacks damaged electrical systems and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Multiple people injured in the strikes on the capital have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by local officials.

Regional authorities said the city came under heavy assaults overnight. A minor died and several individuals were injured.

The assaults come after periods of aerial attacks in the region, portions of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

The entire country is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to detect.

Government officials told the media that Moscow was purposely seeking to destroy the national power system, with strikes already disrupting energy systems.

He said technical personnel and government agencies were bracing for further attacks.
